Edmund Sparkler’s Fine Jewels

I’ve been helping out an old friend, Mr. Edmund Sparkler, by turning his romantic European aesthetic into metal and gem wearables.  Each piece was based on the lush architectural elements that adorned the buildings of the past centuries – many of them have a beautiful “Louis XIV”, French feel.

I carved, sculpted and made molds for each design – then the pieces could be easily translated into precious metals.  Other elements are pulled from Edmund’s huge collection of checkerboard cut stones which are set in hand-forged settings.

This is my favourite design – and one I gifted to my sister, Sarah, for her birthday this past week.  The garland of flowers and fruit (in a style called a “barbola swag”) has twin alexandrite stones set beneath flowing ribbon ties.
